A major boat accident has hit Bangladesh on Friday, killing at least 37 people and injuring several others after a boat carrying passengers caught fire in southern Bangladesh, local police say. The number may increase further. According to Jantari, the incident took place in Jhalkoti district, 250 km from the capital Dhaka, when three fires broke out in the engine of the boat in the Sugandha river in the early morning. Relief and rescue work is going on at the spot.
